Sustainability is in our DNA
Sustainability is at the heart of our design philosophy. We believe that creating lasting, functional, and beautiful spaces goes hand in hand with responsible environmental stewardship.
Sustainability is at the heart of our design philosophy. We believe that creating lasting, functional, and beautiful spaces goes hand in hand with responsible environmental stewardship.
By using premium, durable materials and implementing efficient manufacturing processes, we reduce waste and extend the life cycle of our products.
Our commitment to sustainability is woven into every step of our journey, from design through to production, ensuring that our solutions not only enhance spaces but also support a healthier planet for future generations. We are proud to lead with integrity and make a positive impact on both our industry and the environment.
Advanta has an internal new product development and production process checklist to ensure our products have been assessed against environmental criteria, this is called our Eco 5 Label rating system, which also includes our Product Stewardship program.
Advanta’s Product Stewardship End-of-life ‘Take-back’ program promotes sustainable disposal by allowing the return of certified products after their useful life. Products are accepted free of charge if returned unassembled and uncontaminated within five years of delivery. Once returned, items are either resold, donated, or dismantled for recycling, ensuring minimal waste and supporting environmental responsibility. This initiative is available exclusively to the original purchasers of Advanta products.
Product stewardship recognises everyone involved in the production, supply and use of products and sharing responsibility for the environmental impact throughout a product’s life cycle, from production through to disposal. It aims to avoid and reduce waste and increase recycling and resource recovery.
The vital initial step in the cycle is superior product design. Our products are designed and manufactured to withstand the demands of the commercial environment and the use of premium materials is meshed with the continuous addition of new features to extend our products’ original life-span (First-life).
Advanta’s Product Stewardship End-of-life ‘Take-back’ Program completes the eco-cycle and assists with the management and disposal of our products at the end of their useful life with the original user.
We will receive and dispose of products manufactured by us free of charge (certified products only) provided they are returned unassembled and in an uncontaminated condition within 5 years from delivery date. If transport to our premises is required, the charge for this service is on a ‘not-for-profit’ basis and the current price will be quoted on application.
This Product Stewardship End-of-life ‘Take-back’ Program is only available to the original purchaser of the product.
Returned products will be either re-sold at auction or donated to recognised charity organisations to continue their useful lifespan, or if unsaleable or beyond re-use, dismantled and have the components sorted by material and sent to approved commercial recycling outlets.
Environmental product label
Products bearing the Eco 5 Rating on our website have been internally assessed by stringent environmental criteria and are good for the environment and human health.
The Eco 5 Rating assessment considers criteria including materials used, harmful substances, expected life cycle, packaging, separability, recyclability and emissions that are harmful to the environment. This is an internal checklist against key environmental assessment criteria important to the commercial furniture industry.
At Advanta we cross check our new product development and production process against:
Product Life | Product Stewardship | Emissions | Separability | Recyclability | Packaging | Product Identification | Product Information | Harmful Substances | Padding Materials | Fabrics / Upholstery Materials | Timber & Natural Materials | Adhesives | Coatings and Treatments
The Eco 5 also includes the Product Stewardship End of Life Take Back Program outlined above.
